In a special interview with CNBC-TV18’s Managing Editor Shereen Bhan, Murthy expressed his fondness for Hindi films, saying, “I enjoy Hindi films; I don’t watch English films.” However, contrary to his early days when he would skip classes to catch the first-day-first-show, he now prefers Netflix.
Even after a decade, his love for cinema remains unchanged. Murthy, in a conversation with CNBC-TV18’s Shereen Bhan, stated, “For me, Rani is the heroine there, and I truly respect her.” Recently, the Chairman of Infosys Foundation watched Peter Morgan’s historic drama “The Crown” on Netflix. Speaking about the show, Murthy said, “For me, the queen is the heroine, and I genuinely respect her.” He added, “I’ve also watched a good Telugu film. “English is limited; for me, Hindi is supreme. I watch Marathi films; I watch Telugu films.” Murthy admitted that he is a fan of Alia Bhatt. He watched the Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer “Rocky and Rani’s Love Story.”
Before marriage, Murthy used to watch numerous films with her husband, N.R. Narayana Murthy, in theaters. However, this tradition stopped after marriage. My entire thought was to spend time with her. She liked all Hindi films; we used to watch a lot of Hindi and English films together.”
